DIRECTION
From I-5 north of Mt. Vernon, go 40 miles east on Hwy 20 (North Cascades Highway). Just before Rockport State Park, turn left onto Forest Road 1030 (also known as the Sauk Mountain Rd.) . Follow this gravel road 8 miles to the trailhead parking lot.
Northwest Forest Pass is required

Take   I 90 exit # 20 turn right and another right.Park on the road
If you want to drive to the trailhead
Take I-90 east of Cle Elum.Exit 85  Take SR 970 north to the Teanaway Road. Follow the North Fork Teanaway Road to the 29 Pines Campground where the pavement ends at a fork in the road. Take the right fork, FR 9737, 10 miles to its end at trailhead #1394, Esmeralda Basin.
Driving time around 2 hrs
Northwest Forest Pass is required.

Da qualche mese i nuovi passaporti biometrici richiedono le impronte digitali e dunque per ottenere un nuovo passaporto bisogna andare a San Francisco.
Tuttavia coloro che hanno il passaporto scaduto o che stia per scadere possono, una tantum, farlo a Seattle (Bothell) Sabato 18 Settembre nel pomeriggio.
Il Sig Barbieri, l'addetto ai passaporti del Consolato Generale D'Italia a San Francisco sarà nell'ufficio del viceconsolato a Bothell per prendere le impronte digitali.
Chi fosse interessato dovrebbe riempire la domanda per il rilascio del passaporto e  mandarla previamente a San Francisco insieme ad una foto firmata, ad una busta pre-affrancata Express Mail per la spedizione di ritorno dei passaporti una volta emessi.

Direction:From Seattle take I-90 East to Exit 52. Turn left at the Stop onto Alpental Road. Parking is in about 1.3 mile on the left side of the road. Trailhead is across the road.
